    Mehrzad Bazyar, LMFT, Clinical Supervisor

I am Mehrzad Bazyar, MS. LMFT, a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT-108725 & NPI # 1811474513). Since 2023, I have been providing clinical supervision for interns, associates, and trainees at Dialectica Family Therapy. Additionally, I offer supervision for the Conejo Adult Clinic at the County of Ventura, where I work as a Mental Health Clinician after completing the VCBH Advanced Supervision Courses.

I help people dealing with depression, anxiety, trauma, grief and bereavement, self-esteem issues, and interpersonal/relationship problems. I provide psychotherapy and family counseling in a safe, empathic, non-judgmental, and non-pathological environment.

My approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Adlerian Therapy, Family Systems Theory, Client-Centered Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Reality Therapy. I offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each individual client. My goal is to provide a respectful, nurturing, and safe environment to reach therapeutic goals. I believe that such an atmosphere can help clients grow, overcome life’s obstacles, and improve their relationships.

I received my Associate degree in General Studies from Indiana University, my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and my Master of Science in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Marital and Family Therapy from California Lutheran University. I also trained at Camarillo Hospice as a Grief and Bereavement Counselor and at the Wheel of Wellbeing Center as a Couple Counselor.

My professional experience includes working at the Community Counseling Services of California Lutheran University (2014-2015), serving as a Grief and Bereavement Counselor at Camarillo Hospice in 2016, and working as a Psychotherapist at Aurora Vista Del Mar Behavioral Hospital in Ventura City from 2016 until the hospital was destroyed by the Thomas Fire on Dec. 5th, 2017. I joined the California HOPE Team to support the psychological needs of Thomas Fire victims. I’ve also worked at All-In Health Foundation’s Westwood office and two private practice offices in Camarillo, focusing on marital and family issues.

Since 2018, I have been a Mental Health Clinician with Ventura County Behavioral Health (VCBH), working with over 1600 clients across various mental health departments, including the RISE Program, Star Team, and Conejo Behavioral Adult Clinic.
