Amelia MacMillan, LMFT

Amelia is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who received her Masters of Science in Counseling Psychology from California Lutheran University. Since graduating, Amelia has worked as a therapist at an adolescent inpatient residential treatment center. Through her experience working with high-risk youth and their families she has cultivated a unique understanding of the relationship between social- emotional wellbeing, the integral part that family systems play in our lives, and the importance of unconditional positive regard. In addition to working in an inpatient facility Amelia has experience working in private practice settings. Amelia’s private Practice experience has included working with individuals, groups, children, teens, and families on a variety of issues such as codependency, personality disorders, trauma, depression, anxiety, and life transitions. Amelia works from an integrative approach and has formal training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and has a specialization in Attachment Theory. Amelia practices from a warm, person-centered approach and strives to create a safe space for clients to authentically explore their emotions and experiences.
